Volleyball hosts Hampton Inn of Carbondale Saluki Invitational this weekend

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team will compete in their first home matches of the season as they host the Hampton Inn of Carbondale Saluki Invitational.
The Salukis have played in two tournaments this season, posting a 5-1 record, the team's best start since 2002. SIU, the champions of the 2007 Saluki Invitational, will be defending their home court against Western Illinois (3-4) on Friday. The Salukis will then turn around Saturday to face Arkansas State (6-1) and SEMO (0-3).
"We're looking forward to playing at Davies," said head coach Brenda Winkeler. "We hope to repeat as the champions of the tournament and play as well as we've been playing this season."
