CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team went 2-1 for second place at a tournament hosted by Saint Louis University Saturday, April 14. The Salukis beat South Florida and Eastern Illinois, but fell to host, SLU.

Kristie Berwanger and Chandra Roberson led Southern, finishing the day with 21 kills each. Berwanger hit .272 with just six errors in 55 attempts, adding 16 digs. Roberson recorded three digs and a team-high 7.5 blocks on the weekend.

Jen Berwanger recorded six kills, second on the team with 26 digs.

Saluki setter Erica Bartruff led her team in assists, also recording eight kills, while libero Kristy Elswick recorded a team-high 48 digs, averaging nearly eight per game.

The Salukis will wrap up the spring season with at tournament at home in Davies Gym April 21.
