CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Southern Illinois volleyball team went 3-1 over the weekend at the Southeast Missouri State Spring Tournament, the Salukis second tournament of the spring season.

The Salukis took two of three games from Murray State and Memphis before sweeping Christian Brothers, 2-0. The Salukis lost two of three games against host team SEMO to wrap up tournament play.

Outside hitter Jennifer Berwanger led the Salukis in the tournament hitting .278 with 35 kills on 90 attempts with just 10 errors on the day. She averaged 3.18 kills and 3.82 digs per game with four solo and one block assist. She had her best match of the day against Memphis totaling 12 kills, 14 digs and two solo blocks.

Middle blockers Marina Medic and Chandra Roberson averaged 3.00 and 2.82 kills per game respectively. Medic hit .256 (33 kills), adding one solo and a team-high seven block assists, while Roberson hit .254 (31 kills) with one solo, five block assists and four service aces.

Libero Kristy Elswick led the Salukis with 5.18 digs per contest, totaling five service aces. Primary setter Brooklyn Robbins totaled 91 assists for an 8.27 assists per game average.
