A true long distance runner. Meehan ran a personal best last year in the 5000m at the Butler Invitational (17:33.09). Meehan also runs cross-country for the Salukis and was the team’s number one runner in 2001 and 2002.

At SIUC: Ran a career-best 17:48 at Iowa St. Invite in the 5,000m. Added 17:57 in same event to place third at MVC Indoor Championships, and also had a first place time at the McDonald’s Invite (18:15) and a third at the Indiana Invite (18:04). Had career-best time in the 3,000m to place first at USA Track Open (10:10) and placed sixth in the same event at the MVC Indoors (10:27).

Background: She was a four-time state qualifier in the 3200-meters and three-time qualifier in the 1600-meters and holds the school record in the 3200 meters and 5K. She was the 1998 district champion in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meters. Meehan was a four-time state qualifier in cross country and was the 1998 state champion. All-state in the 1600 and 3200 meters,as well as cross country in 1997-98. She received AAU All-American in cross country.
