CARBONDALE, Ill. - Due to injuries suffered in the first game on Sunday, March 2 of the Coach B Southern Classic tournament, Southern Illinois softball players Tiffanie Dismore, and Chelsea Petty will both miss upcoming games.

Dismore, a senior outfielder from Lafayette, Ind., broke her jaw in one place after being hit by a pitch in the bottom of the first inning Sunday. Dismore will have her jaw wired shut, and will be out at least six weeks.

Through 17 games for the Salukis, Dismore has a .297 (11-for-37) batting average and is tied for the team-lead with three doubles.

Petty, a junior utility player from Pinckneyville, Ill., broke her right thumb in two places after being hit by a pitch in the fourth inning. Petty will be set back four to six weeks from her injury, and is batting .250 (8-for-32), with two doubles, a triple and eight runs batted in this season.
