MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Southern Illinois women's golf team is in 13th place after day one of the 2007 Myrtle Beach Classic.

The Salukis posted a team score of 320 after 18 holes at the par 72, 6,136-yard Grande Dunes Golf Course.

Senior Kelly Gerlach led SIU with a 74 on the day, finishing in a tie for 18th place. Junior Christine Zoerlein was the Salukis' next lowest scorer, shooting an 80 and finishing in a tie for 54.

Braidy Hood and Lauren May both posted scores of 83 on the day and finished in a tie for 71st. Rounding out the scoring for SIU was Kate Laegeler with an 84, which placed her in a tie for 77th.
