Men's Tennis sweeps Bradley, 7-0

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University men's tennis team defeated Bradley today, 7-0. The Salukis improved to a 9-12 record overall, 2-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference. SIU (9-12, 2-3) captured the doubles point, to gain an early 1-0 lead over the Braves (2-16, 0-5). Lucas Waked and Anton Leonenko defeated Evgeny Samoylov and Milos Romic, 8-4 at the top seed. Mariano Restrepo and Chase Miller teamed up at No. 2 doubles for the win over Vuk Bolic and Wilder Sampson. Hugo Vidal and Sebastian Rubiano grabbed an 8-7 victory over Richard Robertson and Michel Macara-chvili at No. 3 doubles. Waked grabbed the win at No. 1 singles against Samoylov, while Restrepo defeated Bolic to capture the point at No. 3 singles. Rubiano defeated Sampson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, putting the Salukis up 4-0 to clench the win. Vidal fought at tough match at No. 2 singles, but came out on top with a win over Romic in three sets. No. 6 singles consisted of one set played to eight points, where Miller defeated Robertson, 8-5. The Salukis will be back in action Sunday at 10 a.m., as they take on Illinois State in their last regular season match. Southern Illinois 7, Bradley 0
