Men's Tennis Improves to 7-4

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The men's tennis team came away with two victories as they shut out the Cougars of Chicago State in both matches in yesterday's double header 6-0, 6-0. Junior Alexandru Nomicos was flawless on the day as he defeated Amit Wadhwani at the No. 2 singles spot 6-0, 6-0 in the first match and went on to defeat Bruce Borum 6-0, 6-0 in the second match of the day. Junior Julian Angel Botero and sophomore Bojan Ilievski also posted shut outs in the first match of the day as Botero blanked Bruce Borum (6-0, 6-0) while Ilievski knocked off Jose Flores (6-0, 6-0). In the second match of the day it was senior Peter Bong posting a shut out as he defeated Jose Flores (6-0, 6-0) at the No. 1 singles spot. The Salukis are in action today as they host the Flames of Illinois-Chicago in a 10:00 a.m. match up. All results can be found at www.SIUSalukis.com
