Joins the men's tennis team as a graduate assistant coach following four seasons as a member of the team.

2005-06:Finished the season with an 11-10 singles record...had a hard-fought three set win over Shane Collins of Kentucky...made it to the Flight B1 semifinals of the Middle Tennessee Invitational...paired with Rodrigo Lama for a 0-4 doubles record.

2004-05:Selected to the MVC scholar-athlete team...had the most wins on the team (11-11) in No. 4 singles...earned wins over Memphis, South Alabama and Nebraska...combined with Lama for the most doubles wins going 5-4.

2003-04: Went 5-5 during the fall season and 13-9 in the spring...advanced to the semifinals at the Kentucky Invite.

2002-03: Joined the Salukis in January and had a winning singles record of 9-3, playing at the No. 5 and 6 positions...had a remarkable 6-3 record against conference opponents.

Prior to SIU: Comes to SIU from south of the border, where he recorded an impressive 20-9 singles mark at Wonlock Prep School...world ranked in the ATP as a doubles player and ranked sixth in Chile as a singles player...was crowned Best Classmate and Best Sportsman in 2001, and was Best Student in Language and Math.

Personal: Born on Dec. 29, 1983...graduated from SIU in 2006 with a bachelor's in business management/entrepreneurship...working on his MBA...son of Julio and Leticia Gonzalez.
