Scott Fuchs (Fooks) is set to begin his first year as the offensive line coach at Southern Illinois University. Fuchs spent the last year in the same capacity at Grand Valley State.

Fuchs, a 1995 graduate of North Dakota State University, was the offensive line coach for four years at Nebraska-Omaha prior to his short stint at GVSU.

His offensive lines helped the Mavericks average nearly 230 yards per game rushing those four seasons. Fuchs tutored 13 offensive linemen that garnered all-North Central Conference plaudits and four that earned all-american honors.

In addition, two Maverick offensive linemen appeared in the Cactus Bowl. And, the 2006 UNO offensive line paved the way for the Mavericks to lead the nation with 3,105 rushing yards at the NCAA Division II level.

Fuchs also coached two years at Valley City State (1997-98), one year at Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1999) and three years at Minnesota-Crookston (2000-2002).

He earned his Bachelor of Science (1995) master's (1997) degrees at NDSU.

Fuchs (1990-93) was a two-time all-North Central Conference offensive lineman at NDSU. He was amember of the 1990 Bison National Championship team as well as three NCC title teams in his career.

He earned all-conference plaudits in 1992 and 1993 and was a Kodak/AFCA All-American as a senior in 1993. Fuchs finished his playing career in the inaugural Snow Bowl, now the Cactus Bowl.
