First-team all-state by both the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and Associated Press after averaging 22.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and three steals per contest his senior year...Helped teaem to a 28-5 overall mark and finished 8th in the state's Mr. Basketball voting...A first-team IBCA all-state selection and second-team AP all-state choice as a junior when he averaged 26.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest, shooting 50 percent from the field and 86 percent from the foul line...A three-year starter at quarterback who was the first 4,000-yard passer at DuQuoin since former Major League Baseball pitcher Don Stanhouse ended his career in 1968...As a senior, named first-team all-state and all-conference in football and led his team to a 12-2 finish and the state 3A championship game.
