Prior to SIU
Named to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) All-Academic team in 2005-06, after he averaged 4.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots per game for Clark University...As a sophomore in 2004-05, he averaged 4.7 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.1 blocks per game.
H Only the third 7-footer in school history. The others were Marcelo da Silva (1990-94) and Shane Wells (1994-96). Both were 7-foot tall.

Name is pronounced Ko-bee, Ock-wah...Transferred to SIU from Division II Clark University in Atlanta....Originally enrolled at Butler in 2002, but did not play basketball there...Still a work in progress as he did not play organized basketball in Ghana until 2001...An engineering major with a 3.6 GPA, his program was dropped at Clark Atlanta...Did not play organized basketball until 2001, when he joined Ghana's national under-20 team. He enjoyed the game so much, that he decided to give it a try at the college level in the States....His father, Francis, is a physics professor at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. His mother, Letitia, is a caterer...
Is the youngest and tallest of five children. His father stands 6-foot-6, while his mother is 5-foot-8...Speaks five languages, including three dialects from his native country.
