2005: Compiled a perfect 5-0 record and led the team with a 1.67 ERA as SIU's midweek starter...struck out 30 and walked 11 in 43 innings over 10 appearances, including seven starts...combined on three shutouts and was touched for eight earned runs...emerged as the Salukis' midweek starter against Tennessee-Martin (Mar. 29), where he posted two strikeouts and threw a one-hitter in five scoreless innings...had a season-high six strikeouts in six or more innings on two occasions...scattered just five hits, struck out 10 and allowed two walks through 13-straight scoreless innings in his last two starts of the year...struck out four in seven innings during a combined shutout against Saint Louis (May 4)...picked up his first collegiate win against Murray State (Apr. 6)...held opponents scoreless for five or more innings in four of his seven starts...limited opponents to no more than three hits in three of his midweek starts.

Pre-SIU: First-team all-conference, all-county, all-district and all-region pick at Blissfield High School...helped lead his school to back-to-back Division III State Championships, as both a sophomore and junior...those teams registered a combined 71-14-1 record...as a junior, he went 10-2 with a 1.49 ERA...struck out 101 batters to 31 walks in 79.2 innings as well...ranked in the top-10 out of 105 students in his class with a 3.94 GPA.
