Chris McCulloch

Will be among the mix at third base and may also contribute in the outfield...made great strides offensively during parts of last season...transferred to SIU from Allen County Community College a year ago.

2005: Started 19 games at third base before finishing out the year as SIU's designated hitter...played in 45 games, including 40 starts between those two spots...hit .259 (38-for-147) with 24 runs, nine doubles, three home runs, 27 RBI and 15 walks...hit .283 with 15 hits, nine runs, three doubles, a homer and nine RBI in Valley games...homered in back-to-back games against Stetson, where he opened the year by hitting .357 (5-for-14) with three runs, a double, two home runs and five RBI on the three-game series (Feb. 11-13)...hit safely in five of his first six games of the season...also drove in two runs in three of his first four outings...was one of seven Salukis with multiple-hits in 10 or more games...ranked third on the team with nine multiple-RBI performances...had a six-game hitting streak from Apr. 22-30...knocked in a season-high three runs in consecutive games against Evansville (Apr. 24) and SE Missouri State (Apr. 27)...hit .500 (4-for-8) with a run scored, one double, three walks and three RBI in three games at the ConAgra Foods MVC Tournament (May 25-27).

Pre-SIU: Transfers to SIU from Allen County Community College, where he hit .365 with five home runs and a perfect 11-of-11 stolen bases a year ago...also led the Red Devils with 50 RBI and was named second-team all-Jayhawk Conference...prior to ACCC, attended Seaman High School, where he helped lead his team to a state championship as a sophomore...a two-time all-conference selection, he rounded out his prep career hitting .434, as his team finished second in the state his senior year.
