At SIU: Won the Missouri Valley Conference cross country title in 2006...did not finish lower than 13th as a sophomore, winning two...during the track season, earned all-conference in the indoor and outdoor seasons, finishing second in the indoor 3,000 and second in the outdoor 10,000...was all-conference in cross country and outdoor track as a freshman...finished eighth in the 8K at the MVC Championships with a career-best 24:43.86...posted eight of 11 top-10 finishes during the indoor and outdoor campaigns...was fourth in the 5,000-meter run at the MVC Indoor Championships and second in the 10,000-meter run at the league's outdoor championships.

Pre-SIU: Attended Bartlett High School, where he finished seventh in the state in cross country...MVP in track and cross country...was named his school's Athlete-of-the-Year as a senior...personal bests as a prep include a mark of 9:29 in the 3200 and a time of 4:28 in the 1600.
