CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois track and field program will host throws and pole vault camp Saturday and Sunday July 11-12 at McAndrew Stadium on the Lew Hartzog Track for junior high and high school students.

This camp will offer each athlete a personalized evaluation of each athlete's technique. Specialization of the camp will be in the pole vault, shot put, discus and introduction to the hammer throw.

Camp will begin at 10 a.m. and last until 4 p.m. each day. Cost of attendance is $100 for Saturday or Sunday or $175 for both days.

The Saluki throws and pole vault coaches sent 11 events to the 2009 NCAA Mideast Regional meet and two athletes to both the indoor and outdoor NCAA National Championships, earning four top-20 finishes.

In the last five years, the SIU track and field teams have won three Missouri Valley Conference team titles, garnered 15 All-American honors and two individual national championships.
