Riley finishes 11th in 2008 U.S. Olympic Trial final

EUGENE, Ore. - Southern Illinois thrower Brittany Riley entered Saturday's final fourth in the women's hammer throw at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, but finished 11th, missing a chance to represent her country at the 2008 games in Beijing, China.

The former Saluki six-time All-American threw 219-06 (66.90m) in the qualifying round Thursday to place herself fourth heading into Saturday's finals. During the finals, Riley threw 211-05 (64.44m) in her second throw, fouling her third and final throw to finish 11th.
