EUGENE, Ore. - Seven current and former Southern Illinois track and field athletes recorded six top-15 finishes at the 2009 USA Junior and Senior National Championships on the campus of the University of Oregon, June 25-28.

Cody Doerflein recorded the top finish of the weekend for the Salukis finishing fourth in the men's junior pole vault clearing 16-04.75 (5.00m).

In the jumps, Malaikah Love finished fifth in the women's junior triple jump with a final leap of 41-07 (12.67m), and sixth in the junior long jump with a best jump of 19-05.25 (5.92m).

James Lambert and Brad Foote finished fifth and 17th respectively in the men's junior hammer throw. Lambert threw 205-06 (62.65m) and Foote, 180-06 (55.01m).

In the senior events, Jeneva McCall finished 12th in the women's discus with a best toss of 175-00 (53.35m). Fellow thrower Sasha Leeth finished 15th in the women's hammer throw at 190-07 (58.09m).

Former Saluki Ty Davis, running with Team Indiana, crossed the finish line in 2:11.55 in the women's 800-meter run for 26th place.
