ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois University junior thrower Brittany Riley was named Missouri Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Riley, who hails from Flossmoor, Ill., highlighted the first weekend of the outdoor season with three meet titles and two regional marks at the SIU hosted, Spring Classic over the weekend. She won the women's hammer, discus and shot put, posting regional marks in the hammer and discus.

Riley threw 210-00 in the hammer to also set a new stadium record by nearly 20 feet. She threw 169-05, second all-time at SIU in the discus and 46-08 in the shot, both marks personal-bests.

This week marks the fifth time this season and the seventh time she has been named MVC Field Athlete of the Week in her Saluki career.
