BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Southern Illinois track and field teams took 13 athletes to the Billy Hayes Relays hosted by Indiana Friday night, picking up five top-10 finishes.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Brandon Love, Sammy Biggs, Antoine Jennings and Derrick Fisher picked up the top finish of the evening, a fifth-place finish in 42.30. Biggs went on to finish 12th in the 100 in 11.19.

In the throws, Joe Mueller finished sixth in the hammer with a toss of 56.72 meters.

Kendra Deck picked up the top finish for the women, sixth-place in the 400 in a time of 1:02.22. In the 100 hurdles, Terri Counts (15.26) and Leslie Murillo (15.36) finished seventh and eighth respectively.

Both teams return to action May 11-13 for the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
