Tiffany Gowens enters her second year as an assistant to Rick Walker this season. Gowens began swimming at the age of 5 in a summer league and never stopped. She attended the college preparatory Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. based on the suggestion of her swim coach. She was a four-year letterman in swimming at Texas A&M from 2001-2005. During her time at A&M, Gowens won two Big 12 championships and broke a school record in the 400-meter freestyle. She was also named an NCAA All-American while with the Aggies. After graduating, Gowens was offered a job at her alma mater, the Bolles School, as an assistant coach for children ages eight-10. Gowens also she served as the Operations Coordinator for Velocity Sports Performance in Jacksonville. Gowens earned her bachelor of science in kinesiology degree with a focus on sport management and a minor in business from Texas A&M in 2005. Gowens, a native of Valdosta,Ga., met her husband, Ryan, at Texas A&M. |
