We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions about SASF membership below. If you do not find the answer to your particular question, please call the SASF office at 618-453-3148.

Q. HOW DO I JOIN SASF?
A. You can join SASF by:
- Calling SASF office and make your gift via credit card over the phone
- Requesting a brochure and send contribution with application
- Going to www.SIUF.org and make gift online

Q. HOW IS MY SASF CONTRIBUTION USED?
A. Your contribution to the SASF is used to defray the costs of athletic scholarships. As a donor, you help supplement the cost of scholarships to SIU student-athletes which includes tuition, books, and room and board.

Q. WHAT ARE THE DEADLINES FOR RENEWING/JOINING THE SASF?
A. To be eligible for SASF benefits, all renewing members or new members must contribute by June 30.

Q. DO I HAVE TO PAY THE ENTIRE AMOUNT WHEN I JOIN?
A. You may elect to join the SASF by making a pledge and choosing to have monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payments. Remember that all benefits are determined based on the July 1 - June 30 membership year and only gifts received by June 30 will determine benefits for the next membership year, so plan your pledge payments accordingly.

Q. HOW DOES THE SASF PRIORITY POINT PROGRAM WORK?
A. The SASF ranks its members by their total lifetime giving and other items which members can accure points. Priority seating and parking are determined by your total points within club levels.

Q. CAN I DESIGNATE GIFTS TO GO TOWARD PARTICULAR SPORTS, PROGRAMS OR OTHER MORE SPECIFIC PURPOSES?
A. Yes. You may choose to designate your gifts for any of the 18 varsity sports, capital projects or other program-related initiatives. However, designated gifts do not count toward any required seating or parking benefits.

Q. I AM A MEMBER OF THE SIU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, DO MY MEMBERSHIP DUES COUNT AS A GIFT TO THE SASF?
A. No. The SIU Alumni Association is an independent membership organization and membership dues are not considered to be a gift to the University or to Intercollegiate Athletics.

Q. WILL THERE BE DESIGNATED DONORS SEATING AND PARKING AT THE NEW FOOTBALL STADIUM AND BASKETBALL ARENA?
A. Yes. All seating and parking will be prioritized based on the priority point program and club level.
