Kristina A. Therriault, enters her 12th year providing academic assistance to student-athletes throughout their collegiate career. She oversees the student services and CHAMPS/Life Skills programs for Southern Illinois University student-athletes. She also supervises the daily operation of the Troutt-Wittmann Academic Center.

Prior to her current position, Therriault (pronounced TARE-ee-oh) was the academic advisor for Saluki student-athletes from 1995-2001 and Coordinator of Student Services from 2001-2005. While completing her Masters degree, she served as an intern with the University of Kentucky Athletics Department's Center for Academic and Tutorial Services (CATS). During her time at UK, she helped student-athletes, including current Miami Heat star, Antoine Walker, with their overall adjustment and development to college.

Therriault's dedication and supervision has helped result in higher graduation rates and GPAs among student-athletes than the general student population. The hard work of Therriault and her full-time staff have contributed to a 90% graduation rate for student-athletes, who compete at SIU for four years.

A native of Menominee, Michigan, Therriault received both her bachelors and masters degree from Central Michigan University. She is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics and a graduate of the NACWAA/HERS Institute for Administrative Advancement. She was also the 2006 recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from SIU's Department of Health Education and Recreation, an award for her contributions and devotion to recreation students, alumni and faculty.
