Chet Savage enters his first year as a member of the Southern Illinois University Department of Athletics as the Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations. In his current role, Savage directs all revenue production for the Salukis including Capital fund-raising, the Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund, Marketing, Licensing, Multi-Media and Ticket Sales. Savage came to SIU on January 29, 2007, from the University of Missouri where he spent nearly five years on the Tigers staff. In his most recent role as Director of the Tiger Scholarship Fund, Savage oversaw all annual giving programs and saw a growth of $2.5 million during his five years at Missouri. Savage also played an integral part in the University of Missouri's Champions for Life capital campaign where over $120 million were raised to fund capital projects such as Mizzou Arena and the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex. Prior to his tenure at Missouri, Savage was a Development Assistant for the Mike Ahearn Athletic Scholarship Fund at Kansas State University. Savage, 30, a native of Riverside, CA, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Pubic Relations (2000) and Master of Education (2002) from Kansas State where he was a two-year starter at catcher for the Wildcat baseball team (1998-99). Savage and his wife Rebekah reside in Murphysboro. |
