Andy Pettit was promoted to director of facilities and game operations in June of 2009. The Mallory, N.Y.-native worked as a coordinator of athletics and arena operations (2006-09), graduate assistant for facilities (2004-05) and student worker for facilities (2000-03) at SIU prior to his new title. In his new position, he will oversee event management of all sports, while handling the day-to-day operations of athletic facilities. "Andy continues to take on more responsibility and serve our department with the utmost professionalism," said Associate Athletic Director of Facilities Jason King. "He has gained the respect of our coaches and staff with his willingness to go the extra mile and help Saluki Athletics be successful." Pettit received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and master's degree in business administration from SIU. He and his wife, Katie, currently reside in nearby Christopher. |
