Shalae Patrick is in her third year as an Associate Director of Media Services at Southern Illinois University following two years as a graduate assistant earning her Master of Science degree in Physical Education at SIU.

A native of Norway, Iowa, she serves as the primary media relations contact for volleyball, women's basketball and outdoor track and field. Prior to SIU, Patirck worked for the Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball team, an Anaheim Angels affiliate in the Class A Midwest League, during the 2004 season. Patirck assisted with day-to-day operations at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the host site of the 2004 Midwest League All-Star game.

Patrick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and public relations from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 2004. She was also a three-year varsity softball letterwinner. While at Mount Mercy, Patrick served as the sports information student assistant for two years (2002-2004), helping with publicity, statistics and the school website for 13 varsity sports. She also spent two years working for Perfect Game, USA (2001-2003), the world's largest baseball scouting report service, monitoring and maintaining indoor hitting facilities and communication with professional baseball scouts for national showcases and tournaments. She also spent a semester as an intern for the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena (2003-2004), where she assisted with the organization and public relations of arena events, including USHL hockey games for the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders.

Patrick resides in Carterville with her husband Sean and son Ty.
