Jeff Honza is in his ninth year as Associate Director of Media Services at Southern Illinois University.

A native of Wooster, Ohio, he serves as the sports information contact for football and baseball. He is in charge of publications, publicity, statistics and website duties surrounding those sports.

Prior to full-time status, Honza worked as a sports information intern at SIU (1999-2000), the University of Minnesota (Summer, 2000) and Florida Southern College (1998-99). In addition to those positions, Honza also gained exposure working national events such as the NBA Playoffs, the 2003 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and the 1999 National Hockey League All-Star Game.

Honza earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Communication from Ashland (Ohio) University in 1997. He was also a three-year letterman on the Eagle football team. He is currently working on a Master's Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on sports administration at SIU.

A member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), Honza resides in Carterville with his wife, Sarah, and four-year old son, Benjamin.
