CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University Athletics Department has launched a monthly newsletter called, The Saluki Spectator, to keep SIU faculty, staff and students up-to-date on information surrounding Saluki Athletics.

The newsletter contains information about a selected Saluki athletic team, as well as current scholar athletes and awards they have received. Also included in the newsletter is a calendar of upcoming athletic events, a staff member question and answer, and a section titled, A Day in the Life of a Saluki Athlete.

The newsletter is similar to SIU's current university e-mail newsletter called, The Southern Spotlight, and will allow the entire Saluki community to get a behind-the-scenes look at SIU Athletics.
