Junior Gwen Berry set a new personal record in the shot put this past weekend at the McDonald's Invitational, Feb. 5-6. She threw a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 51-04.50 (15.66m) to finish third in the event. Berry also had a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 64-00.50 (19.52m). Previously ranked 35th in the country in the shot put, the new mark should launch her into the top-25 this season. The junior also ranks seventh in the country in the weight throw this season.
